It is a great place to relax and you will enjoy world-class diving and snorkelling with abundant sea life including sea turtles, whales and snapper or you can even snorkel with the Manta Rays at Buliya! Three words to describe Kadavu Island: REMOTE, PRISTINE, TRANQUIL.
The resort consists of ten acres of lush tropical Fijian gardens and is located righ on the beach adjacent to the Great Astrolabe Reef, one of the largest and most unspoiled reefs in the World.
There are hammocks strung out all along the beach for you to enjoy the idealic beach landscape. The beach is vitually on your doorstep.
The bures themselves are made in the traditional fashion and are very eco-friendly. The entire resort is solar-powered with generator backup, and facilities to charge electrical equipment such as your digital cameras and iPhones.

Absolute beach-front bures are strung along the beach in a very pretty beach-garden setting, shaded by coconut palms and frangipani trees. A delightfully innovative blend of traditional thatch and coconut fronds have been used in the construction of all our bures.
Our En-Suite Bures are slightly more comfortable while still presenting a simplistic charm right on the beach. Along with wooden or decorated floors and attached bathrooms, it is spacious and airy.
The bar is well stocked with Fiji Bitter, red and white wines and spirits. Sit down with a refreshing drink on a lazy afternoon and watch the sunset on the deck of your Bure.

The Standard Beachfront Bures are simpler with ample room for singles or two people to move about. Fitted out with decorated shell ornaments and traditional Fijian mats, the bures have shared bathroom facilities located just behind.

The meals are served buffet-style and with most of our produce being grown locally and caught fresh from the surrounding reefs, Waisalima Beach Resort offers only the freshest and tastiest bounty available. Most of our vegetables and tropical fruits are grown on-premises in our gardens behind the kitchen, and meals are a mixture of international cuisine and traditional Fijian food which offers a diversified menu for everyone. Some produce items are ferried weekly from Suva to ensure a variety of dishes, as well as the occasional Lovo feasts that offer a traditional Fijian gastronomic experience.
Vegetarians and special dietary requirements are easily catered for by arrangement so please let us know when making your reservation so we can ensure our meals cater to your specific needs. With fresh bread, pastries and cake baked daily, our delicious deserts will tantalize your palette!

Waisalima Beach Resort Activities
With two local villages nearby and an unspoiled island that is still as originally Fijian as you can discover, Kadavu Island is the place to experience Fiji?s friendly and local hospitality.
Learn to weave baskets or go fishing with some of the locals and even participate in one of the regular traditional Kava ceremonies hosted by the local families.
Take a trip to one of the villages and introduce your children to the local games, and if you're adventurous enough you might even find yourself engaging in a popular game of rugby with some of the Fijian locals! (Beware though, as the Fijians are some of the best rugby players in the world!)
Seriously the hiking opportunities are amazing. See along the way native Kadavu wild life, indigenous birds, check out the farmers plantations, stroll through a sleepy village, gaze out across magnificent landscapes and allow the beauty of Kadavu fill you with wonder. Various waterfalls are available with each having its own special attraction.
Hike to a remote location and go snorkeling on a remote beach or if you want you can also go out as a group to a picnic on a quiet beach.
Getting to Waisalima Beach Resort
Take a short 40-minute flight either from Nadi or Suva (Nausori Airport) in a light plane. Be greeted by our boat captain who then takes you on an hour-and-a-half boat ride along the wild and rugged picturesque shores of Kadavu Island, right to the very eastern tip.
With untouched acres of land without roads, you can just sit back and enjoy the ride while taking in palm-laced beaches, natural rainforests, volcanic drop-offs and you might even have dolphins escort you on your journey.
