Welcome singers bearing refreshing glasses of fruit juice and smiles wait to greet every guest. Once you step ashore you are on "Bula Time" - there is no rush, no hassle, just relaxation.
Unlike many other Fijian resorts, this intimate and affordable property is owned and operated by the locals. Oarsman's is owned by the Natia Mataqali, who are the traditional landowners of the area on which the resort is situated. Ratu Epeli, the Managing Director of Oarsman's Bay Lodge, is the Chief of the Yavusa (tribe) and thus the Tui Drola or high chief of this tikina (district).
Whether kicking back in the outdoor restaurant and bar, relaxing in one of the many hammocks scattered along the beach, enjoying a game of volleyball with wonderful Fijian staff or visiting a local Fijian village, you'll be hard pressed to find a more idyllic and breathtakingly beautiful location to wile away your time.
