Taveuni Island Resort & Spa sits majestically atop a bluff amidst lush tropical gardens overlooking the spectacular aqua waters of the Somosomo Straits. 

Taveuni Island Resort & Spa is a small exclusive luxury resort which offers the Ultimate Tropical Island Experience.

Taveuni Island Resort is set on ten acres of immaculate manicured gardens and accommodates 14 privileged couples. There are only twelve accommodations, so each house is positioned for privacy and to take advantage of the spectacular views over the azure ocean and surrounding islands.

The talented chefs at Taveuni Island Resort & Spa take the islands daily bounty and the freshest of local ingredients to create a delight of culinary experiences.  The cuisine is innovative, fresh and healthy.  Special dietary requirements can be catered for.

Meals are served on the alfresco deck with its rich native timbers and ocean views.  It is the perfect place for a leisurely breakfast or a sumptuous candlelight dinner with the casual elegance of white linen.

You can enjoy an intimate romantic dinner for two at the lagoon bure, Under the stars by the pool, on the beach with a personal waiter and musician or in the privacy of your own luxury bure. Room service is available from 7.00am to 8.30pm daily.

Things to do:

Land-based activities include village tours to meet the friendly people who will tell you about their culture and traditions, trips to wonderful waterfalls, visit to where the 180 degree meridian (former dateline) crosses Taveuni, and horse riding.

Go trekking in the Bouma World Heritage Park - one of the world?s last completely undisturbed tropical island rainforest habitats.

Enjoy an isolated romantic beach lunch of local delicacies.

There is a scenic 9 hole golf course about 30-40 minute drive further down the coast.

Water-based activities (in addition to the Resort?s beautiful horizon pool) include swimming, snorkelling, handline fishing and game fishing, kayaking in the turquoise waters of the lagoon, and scuba diving.

The resort overlooks the Somosomo Strait - renowned for its spectacular world-class diving, notably on the Rainbow Reef. Dive sites include the world famous ?Great White Wall? and Rainbow Reef. Dive gear is available for hire. Dive courses can be arranged.

Getting there

Taveuni Island is only 90 minutes flight directly from Nadi. Taveuni Island Resort & Spa is a two-minute drive from the airport and guests will be met and welcomed on arrival.

Taveuni Island Resort & Spa Room Information.

The resort has 12 luxury ocean view bures and one exclusive oceanfront villa. Each has spectacular views of the Somosomo Straits.

The luxury bures are over 100m2 in size and are built with native Taveuni timbers. There are floor to ceiling windows on all sides. The bures are open plan and the lounge opens into a spacious outdoor living area, which overlooks the ocean and surrounding islands.

The décor is tropically inspired - cool tiles, native floral arrangements and watercolour paintings. The bures have king-sized beds and all feature private outdoor showers.

Also on offer is the exclusive Matalau private villa. This private and luxurious villa is complete with a private plunge pool and waterfall, your own personal chef and staff. There is also the option of a butler service. This is an all-inclusive villa, including alcoholic beverages.

Six Luxury Oceanfront Bures

These stunning bures have spectacular views over the ocean and surrounding islands. From your romantic canopy king-sized bed, you can enjoy the stunning sea views.

The bedroom is complete with an ensuite with his and hers vanities, imported fine white linen, dressing gowns and slippers, hair dryers, comfortable indoor and outdoor furniture, air-conditioning, fans or natural air flow. There is also a private outdoor shower with unlimited hot water.

Refreshments provided are coffee and tea facilities, fresh cookies and a mini bar.

 
Six Luxury Ocean View Bures

Same as Oceanfront bures but with views over the ocean and surrounding tropical gardens. The lounge is separate and the ensuite bedroom is on a split level.

Matalau Luxury Oceanfront Villa

Matalau is a Fijian word which means everything wonderful and beautiful in life. This captures the essence of the Matalau Luxury Villa.

When you stay at the Matalau Villa, you will have your own personal chef and staff.

The Matalau Villa is designed in a unique pattern of four hexagons. It has a kitchen wing, a large lounge area and two private bedrooms, with an ensuite, including showers. Each bedroom has a private outdoor shower, overlooking the ocean. The villa has king-sized beds, imported fine white linen, comfortable indoor and outdoor furniture, air-conditioning, fans or natural airflow.

A path in front of the Matalau Villa leads down to a private white sand beach, perfect for an intimate picnic for two. Guests staying in the Matalau Villa are welcome to use all the facilities the resort has to offer.
